The Wren
In my artistic journey, I draw inspiration from the spiritual symbolism of the wren, embodying determination, enthusiasm, change, and happiness. Much like the wren, I move swiftly and adapt to new situations, often remaining unseen as I explore and create. Continually seeking something new, something more, I forge my own path to happiness through ever-evolving craft.
My work serves as a reflection of this journey, transforming the destruction and low economic views of society into a beautiful vision. Through the lens of both physical and mental states, I infuse my pieces with playfulness and beauty, challenging conventional perceptions and inviting viewers to explore new perspectives.
With each creation, I embrace growth, learning, and the joy of creation itself. Like the wren, I am constantly evolving, shaping my art to express the depths of human experience and the inherent beauty found within.
Story Teller, Diverse Learner, Educator
I have been a Visual Arts Teacher since 2011. Though my passion and drive were in the creation and inspiration of art pieces I have learned that teaching is only a tiny bit of subject matter and a huge part of human relationship and interaction. If you want to learn about the world, the mind, emotion, and life spend a day in a classroom full of kids, especially an art classroom. In the same way, I teach my classes, as an artist my work is ever-changing.
I graduated from Radford University in 2009 and received a Bachelor of Science in Art with a Collegiate Teaching License for the state of VA. In 2015 I decided on a different path for my Master’s and in 2016 graduated from Savannah College of Art and design with a Master’s of art in Arts Administration. This has allowed me to explore various connections in programming, developing my brand, and education. I received my professional certification in Digital Marketing at Duke University in 2023 focusing on Digital Branding and Social Media Marketing.
